Bathurst-Finch Community Wellness Night!

When: The second Monday of every month, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Where: Antibes Community Centre, 140 Antibes Drive (North of Finch just West of Bathurst)
Activities include:

  • Free weight room time with a fitness instructor for women, free drop-in basketball for youth (12 - 24 years) and free lane swim for youth (16 – 24 years).
  • Legal clinic. Private, confidential 15 – 30 minute consultations with lawyers on issues including immigration, tenant rights, employment rights, pension, Ontario Works and ODSP.
  • Forms clinic. Help with filling out forms including pensions, Interim Federal Health Benefits, Ontario Works, Unemployment Insurance and more.
  • Settlement information. Get information about the health care system, the school system, child care and much more.

Child care is available from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for people attending any of the above programs.

Walking Group at Bathurst-Finch

It’s fun, it’s healthy and it’s free!

  • Come out for a fun walk and light stretches
  • Meet people who live in your neighborhood
  • Get some fresh air and moderate exercise
  • Explore different walking routes through local parks

Please bring a water bottle, apply sunscreen, wear walking shoes (no slippers or high heels), sun hat and comfortable clothing (dress according to the weather)!

We will walk with moderate speed. TTC tokens will be provided.

Pedal Pushers - Youth Bicycle Recycling Project

Pedal Pushers is a youth bike recycling project that will be operating out of the garage of the Lawrence Heights site this summer.  Student participants will receive training in bicycle mechanics and bicycle safety from both professional mechanics and non-professional volunteers.  Throughout the project, students will build their own bikes by recycling donated bikes.  They will receive community hours for their participation.  Students aged 13-18 can participate.

Dates: July 5 – August 25

Days and time: Tuesdays 2-6 p.m. (for girls), Wednesdays 2-6 p.m. (for guys), Thursdays 2-6 p.m. (for both)
