Tenant Issues – We provide advice and representation on most matters involving tenants such as: Eviction applications, maintenance and repairs issues, arrears, and subsidized housing. Our emphasis is on eviction prevention. Please note that we do not advise Landlords.
Immigration – We provide advice and representation in matters such as: refugee claims, Humanitarian and Compassionate applications, sponsorships, and removal.
Income Maintenance – This includes all matters involving Ontario Works (OW) and the Ontario Disability Support Program.
Government Pensions – We provide advice in the areas of Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS).
Employment Insurance – We provide advice in most areas. Common questions include denials due to being fired.
Employment Rights – We provide limited advice in the area of wrongful dismissal. We do not provide advice in the area of labour law (where there is a union).
Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) – This is an application for compensation by the Government for an injury incurred as a result of a criminal act. We provide advice and some representation.
Human Rights – We provide advice and some representation for any complaint made to the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
Women Abuse – We provide advice as it pertains to any of the other areas of law that we practice as well as referrals.
Legal Documents – We notarize and commission documents once a week on an appointment basis. Please note that if you do not qualify for our services, we ask for a donation of $10 per document commissioned.
