Unison Health and Community Services is approved by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as the Transfer Payment Agency (TPA) for the Ontario Midwifery Program in the Greater Toronto Area. As a TPA, Unison is responsible for the administration and monitoring of the obligations of the agreements signed between the Ministry, Unison Health and Community Services and thirteen Midwifery Practice Groups. In addition to financial administration, Unison takes an active role in human resources planning by predicting future needs for midwifery services and assessing and recommending proposals for new practice groups.
