Community Recreation in Toronto

What’s happening to access to our community centres and recreation programs?
It’s getting harder and harder to get into our community centres. The Parks, Forestry and Recreation (PFR) subsidy program, the Welcome Policy, is difficult to access and unavailable for months at a time. The city has increased user fees, introduced new user fees (like leisure swim in indoor pools) and cut many free programs. And if we don’t take action right now, it’s about to get much worse.

Community Recreation for All is a group of community workers and residents working to improve access to recreation programs and community centres in Toronto. We can be reached at communityrecreationforall(at)gmail.com
